Our Chef, celebrated for his talent and creativity, runs the show at Bala Roja, a restaurant ranked among the city center’s finest and evident in the number of local foodies that come from wide and far to enjoy Bala Roja’s exquisite cuisine. Es Princep guests wishing to give their day an extra happy ending don’t need to travel, as elegant food and quality service can be found a mere elevator ride away.

Local Produce

His love and appreciation for haute-cuisine have taken him from cooking up a storm in some of Spain’s most esteemed restaurants to Palma’s Old Town. His penchant for the innovative combined with a loyalty to tradition makes for a culinary odyssey to remember. Moreover, attentive waiters welcome customers with a genuine smile and relaxed and friendly atmosphere. Our Chef love affair with the local cuisine started at an early age and is palpable in his beautifully presented dishes. His fabulous fare remains true to their Mallorcan origins, while enriched by a creative, contemporary twist.

Elegant Dining

Two menus degustation for dinner and an executive menu for lunch. Artfully presented, 5 star food and a relaxed and intimate atmosphere are complemented by the restaurant’s stylish décor which features heavy wooden beams, white washed walls,… and plenty of natural light. To avoid disappointment we recommend booking in advance, either online or through reception. When reserving a table please let us know if you, or anyone else in your party, have special dietary requirements.

Bala Roja translates to ‘red bullet’ and refers to the iron cannon balls which were heated in a coal-fired furnace and fired from the adjacent Baluard del Príncep. These flaming ‘hot shots’ were discharged at wooden warships with the purpose of setting them on fire. More often than not those attempts proved successful!
