Valentin's day in Palma

Enjoy Valentine's Day 2024 in the Heart of Palma

written by Es Príncep / January 19, 2024

2024 Resolution: enjoying all the excuses that the calendar provides to explore the most beautiful corners of Palma. And we begin, after the festivities of San Sebastián, with Valentine's Day. We propose some plans to celebrate this special day in Ciutat.

Are you familiar with the Calatrava neighborhood? Here begins your Valentine's Day plans.

The Old Town of Palma is stunning. Here, different cultures converge: Roman remains, some from the Jewish era, legacies from the Muslims... Here, we find the luxury hotel Es Princep and the Calatrava neighborhood.

Strolling through it calmly, you can catch a glimpse of what Palma was like centuries ago. The Arab baths, the old wall, the Cathedral, the convent of Santa Clara... everything speaks of a rich and fascinating historical past and culture.

If you fancy a snack, we recommend visiting the Horno de Santa Clara, located in the convent, where you can try the sweets made by the nuns with the freshest ingredients.

In this neighborhood, you'll also find the Hotel Calatrava, with a meticulously curated gastronomic restaurant, or La Vinya de Santa Clara, for enjoying wines and tapas at leisure.

Sant Francesc, one of the most beautiful Gothic cloisters

Also, very close to Es Príncep, we find the Sant Francesc square. Here is the church of the same name, flanked by a statue of Friar Junípero Serra, and the private school.

Visiting the cloister of the school is a must. The vibrant green grass contrasts with the green and yellow of the lemon trees, and although the children's hustle doesn't hinder the experience, in the afternoon, the arches and pillars, along with the weathered stone blocks, offer a captivating and imposing atmosphere.

In this square, you'll also find the Hotel Sant Francesc, a luxury establishment located near the church.

And if the intention is to enjoy a Valentine's Day meal in a restaurant, we recommend the Ostería in the square, where the authentically Italian menu is a feast of aromas and flavors.

La Lonja, a romantic evening with an option to stay late for Valentine's Day celebration.

As the evening falls over Palma, one of the best neighborhoods to enjoy the sunset is La Lonja. It's an area close to the promenade, the building for which it's named, and the Consolat de Mar, the government center of Mallorca. The Boutique Hotel Palacio Can Marqués is one of the attractions in this iconic neighborhood, and it's worth peeking through its doors to visit.

Moreover, the dining and drinks options are incredibly diverse. From Caballito de Mar, La Paloma, La Bóveda... different styles to indulge in romance during an intimate Valentine's night.

And if you're passionate about views from above... head to the Rooftop Es Princep, a magical and secluded spot from where you can enjoy the last glimmers of water during the sunset.

Since this space opens at 10:30 in the morning, you can bask in the warm winter sun on the terrace while trying a delicious coffee or activate the evening and night in an atmosphere where music gradually takes center stage.

The best way to crown this Valentine's Day experience? Indulge in one of the signature cocktails and join in the fun.
